Eng. Essam Al-Naggar, Chairman of the General Organization for Export and Import Control, opens the EXPORT SMART 2023 forum in its second edition, representing Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Trade and Industry, and delivered his speech, saying: -

On behalf of His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Samir, Minister of Commerce and Industry, I welcome all the distinguished attendees today at "EXPORT SMART2023" which is one of the most important exhibitions for exporters that monitors the challenges facing them and discusses ways of supporting the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to meet these challenges and create opportunities and solutions that promote sustainable development and come under the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi to support Egyptian exports to reach the 100 billion dollars and also through the objectives of the Egyptian Government's programme to strengthen the national economy in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.

"EXPORT SMART2023 " forum is being organized for the second year in a row. under the auspices of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, with the participation of 45 private sector exhibitors for financial and non-financial service providers and the visit of more than 1,000 exporting manufacturers or wishing to start exporting from several industrial sectors including engineering industries, Building and construction materials, textile sector, garment, home furnishings, packaging food industries, chemical industries, medical industries, agricultural crops and furniture industry.

"EXPORT SMART 2023" forum is the first forum of its kind in Egypt interested in exporting and exporters in Egypt by providing an opportunity for exporters, service providers, agencies concerned with developing the export sector, and financing agencies, to network service providers with exporting companies in line with the Egyptian government's plan to increase the volume of Egyptian exports to 100 billion dollars. This is done by seeking to create an opportunity for business developers and service providers specialized in export to meet, to introduce Egyptian companies to the export journey, the required technical and financial needs, commercial problems and how to avoid them, and to introduce the qualitative advantages of small and medium enterprises that help export.

Noting that "EXPORT SMART 2023" focuses in its second session on exporting to Africa through a series of panel discussions entitled “The Export Journey to Africa” and discussing the main topics and issues of concern to the various export sectors, the opportunities on the African continent, government support and how to benefit from them, and financing methods and services. Trade with Africa, and marketing Egyptian products to African markets.

Eng. Essam El-Naggar expressed how happy he was to be among a large and distinguished elite of the exporters' community, heads of export councils, businessmen and all representatives of government agencies, and thanked them for attending and participating in "EXPORT SMART 2023" with the aim of discussing methods and proposals through which we can achieve prosperity and economic growth in Egypt and to allow The opportunity to get acquainted with the challenges and obstacles facing the gentlemen exporters and discuss ways to remove those obstacles and develop international cooperation and achieve economic partnership through interest in Egyptian exported products and raise the skills and awareness of the gentlemen exporters.

In conclusion, His Excellency pledged that all capabilities of the General Organization for Export and Import Control have been put in place for the benefit of exporters, as GOEIC plays a pivotal and effective role in supporting the efforts of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
