The minister of trade and industry inaugurates the ninth session of (Africa for food manufacturing) exhibition

Ismail Gaber: an increase at printing , packaging and food industry sectors, and a decrease in its import due to the efforts of our country to encourage the exporters and to increase the export, this is a step to achieve the president `s initiative (100 billion dollars for export).

Mrs /Neven Gamea the minister of trade and industry inaugurates the (Africa Food Manufacturing) exhibition in its ninth session in cooperation with the food compounds exhibition (FI GLOBAL) and (PROBACK) exhibition for packaging food. This exhibition was organized by the INFORMA MARKETS with cooperation of the food industries chamber and the printing, packaging chamber in the industries federation with a participation from GOEIC.

The minister /Neven Gamea indicated the importance of (Africa Food Manufacturing) exhibition in achieving the food integration between the African countries, it is an important platform to promote the cooperation between African countries to achieve the food security, pointing to the importance of the benefit from the free and preferential trade agreements which signed between Egypt and a large number of countries and the global economic blocs to increase the exports of the food industry sector to different global markets.

GOEIC participates in (Africa Food Manufacturing)) exhibition  to achieve more communication between the ministry devices and the business community, where the exporters and importers were contacted to overcome all obstacles which face them, by informing them the services which provided by GOEIC to facilitate the trade movement and to increase the export rates to the global markets.

 M.G. /Ismail Gaber Head of GOEIC confirmed that the food industry sector ranked the third place at the Egyptian exports during the first half of 2021 to achieve an increase with value 247million dollars (14%) to become its export 2,035billion dollars verse 1,788 billion dollars during the same period of the previous year while, this sector imports decrease with value 591million dollars (-16%) during the same period of the previous year to achieve an increase in the trade balance.

As for the printing and packaging sector recorded an increase in the Egyptian exports during the first half of 2021  to be 98 million dollars (31%) which its exports reached to be 411million dollars verse 313 million dollars during the same period of the previous year ,while its imports decrease to be135million dollars (-16%) to achieve a new positive point .
