(21%) Decrease in the value of The Egyptian non-petroleum Imports during September 2019 compared to September 2018

M.G. Ismael Gaber - Chairman of GOEIC announced that GOEIC had issued its comparative monthly report of September 2019 for the Egyptian non-petroleum imports which showed a decrease in the Egyptian non- petroleum imports with a value of (1.381) milliard dollars or (21%) compared to September 2018. Where the value of the Egyptian non- petroleum imports during September 2019 reached (5.110) milliard dollars versus (6.491) milliard dollars during September 2018.

The report also illuminates a decrease in the value of the imports of (11) sectors, starting with the imports of “Construction Materials” with a noticeable decrease to be (731 MDs) in September 2019 compared to (1.089 Milliard Ds) in September 2018 which mean (33% decrease). Then came the imports of “Ready-made Cloths” with value (46 MDS) in September 2019 compared to (63 MDS) in September 2018 (27% decrease).

The imports of “Furniture” reached (135 MDs) during September 2019 compared to (181 MDS) in September 2018 (26% decrease), then “Leather, Shoes and leather products” recorded a decrease in its imports with value (15 MDs) in September 2019 versus (20 MDs) (24% decrease) during the same period of the previous year. Then we find a decrease in the imports of “Engineering and Electronic products” to become (1.456 Milliard Ds) in September 2019 compared to (1.890 Milliard Ds) during the same period of the previous year.

Followed also by a decrease in the imports of “Handcrafts”, "Fertilizers and chemical products", "Yarn and Textiles", "Food Industries" and "Agriculture Crops"
