GOEIC holds a new package of development projects in cooperation with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)

Chairman of (GOEIC) Eng. Essam Al-Naggar holds the first coordination meeting with the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), which was represented by:

Mrs.: Kim Jin Young, Regional Director of the Agency and the Attaché for Development Cooperation, the Korean Embassy in Cairo

Mr.: Rami El Husseiny, Director of Partnerships and Communications at KOICA

This meeting comes within the framework of presenting a presentation to explain the proposals for new development projects submitted by (GOEIC) to the Korean Agency through the Ministry of International Cooperation.

Whereas, the importance of presenting these projects after the near completion of the implementation of the current project for GOEIC, which is related to providing technical advice on the application of the integrated risk management system in the cross-border trade movement of industrial and engineering commodities, which was done through the grant provided by the Korean Knowledge Exchange Program (KSP) 2022/2023, with the aim of Completion of the remaining stages of the project implementation plan, the purchase of software, digital devices, practical training, and networking for the full application of the integrated risk management system, using the latest systems of artificial intelligence applications, machine learning, and data analysis in this field. Where the state of South Korea is one of the highest ranking countries in the world and progress in the application of this system.

The first meeting dealt with introducing the services which are provided by GOEIC to the industrial and commercial communities in Egypt. Eng. Essam El-Naggar, Chairman of GOEIC, reviewed the unique capabilities of GOEIC and the various roles it plays in various axes with the aim of facilitating the movement of foreign trade to Egypt.

All of this done through units granting certificates of conformity to Egyptian products and conducting conformity assessment tests and laboratory examination in GOEIC for industrial commodities, in accordance with the mandatory requirements of performance, safety and environmental standards for the technical regulations of importing countries.

The General director of the strategic department and the responsible and coordinator of the development projects in GOEIC gave a comprehensive presentation on the proposal of these projects and the extent to which their goals and outputs are linked and compatible in achieving the strategic objectives of GOEIC with the goals of sustainable economic development of the country and Egypt's vision 2030.

GOEIC present priority package of development projects that includes the implementation of three important projects:

The first project: implementing the action plan for implementing the integrated risk system to include the stage of implementing the system at the outlets and ports.

The second project: developing the center of excellence of GOEIC for capacity building, knowledge management and institutional innovation. This scientific center represents a quantum leap in the capabilities of GOEIC in terms of working to achieve the strategic goals of linking production and industry processes with the aim of increasing the competitiveness and quality of Egyptian products.

The third project: developing the Carbon Equivalent (GHG) Certification Unit at GOEIC for the Egyptian Industrial Products, in line with the mandatory requirements of modern environmental standards in the movement of cross-border trade.
