Modify the data of a foreigner’s registration

Service description:

Amending foreign office registration data in accordance with Law 120 /1982

Kinds of modifications

Modifications based on a letter from the foreign office

  1. Amending the name of the foreign office.
  2. The Egyptian agent who is registered with the agency contract on the basis of which the foreign office is based.
  3. The address of the foreign office.
  4. The validity of the agency contract on the basis of which the foreign office is based

Amendments based on an official letter from the foreign company founding the foreign office

  1. Director of the foreign office (director in charge)
  2. Type of foreign office (scientific - technical - consultant - communication - representation - or other).

Required Documents

  1.  Complete the foreign office amendment request signed by the director of the office responsible to the competent employee
    OR whoever represents him with an official power of attorney
  2.  A copy of the identity card or passport of the applicant, and the original for review
  3.  Delivery of S15 registration cards to be modified
    If the applicant for the amendment is an agent of the foreign office, the following documents are required from him:
  4.  A copy of a notarized power of attorney from the real estate registry with a review of the original (even a second agent is accepted only)
  5.  Complete the declaration of validity of the power of attorney (original)
  6.  If he is a government employee, public authority, public institution, or local government unit, he shall submit A letter from his employer stating that this entity has no objection to the employee performing proxy work for others and that he has taken an unpaid leave
    If the address of the foreign office is modified (based on a letter from the foreign office)
    In addition to documents 1 to 6, the following documents are to be completed
  7.  A letter from the foreign office with the required amendment signed by the responsible manager in the foreign office in front of the competent employee, or a valid signature from the bank.
    In the event of amending the name of the foreign office or the validity of the agency contract on which the foreign office is based (based on a letter from the foreign office)
    In addition to the documents from 1 to 6, the following must be fulfilled
  8. A copy of the S14 agent card indicating the occurrence of the amendment and the original for review
  9.  A copy of the card (S14 data and products of the agency contract) indicating the occurrence of the amendment and the original for review
  10.  The responsible manager or his representative completes a request for an extract of data on the Egyptian agent to prove the occurrence of the required amendments
    In the event that the Egyptian agent registered with him amends the agency contract on the basis of which the foreign office is based
    In addition to the documents from 1 to 10, the following will be fulfilled
  11.  Complete the undertaking form of the Egyptian agent for the foreign office signed by the Egyptian agent in front of the competent employee, or a valid signature from the bank
    In the event of amending the type of the foreign office (scientific - technical - advisory - communication - representation, etc.) based on an official letter from the foreign company founding the foreign office
    In addition to documents 1 to 6, the following is required
  12.  An official letter from the company founding the foreign office explaining the required amendment, documented by the competent chamber of commerce and approved by the Egyptian embassy or consulate in its country
  13.  The original translation of the book of the foreign office company according to the established rules regarding translation
    In the event that the manager responsible for the foreign office is amended based on an official letter from the foreign company founding the foreign office
    In addition to documents 1 to 6 and documents 12 to 13, the following is required
  14.  Acknowledgment form for the registration of foreign offices signed by the manager responsible before the competent employee, or the authenticity of a signature from the bank
  15.  If the manager in charge is a foreigner, he fulfills:-
    •  A copy of the passport and the original for review
    •  A copy of the valid work permits and the original for review
     If the responsible manager is an Egyptian, fulfills:-
    •  A copy of the identity document and the original for review

Modification fee

  •  Return to the GOEIC's branch concerned with MAROUF, provided that the service fee is paid to the authority's treasury in Egyptian pounds with a visa
  •  Fees are paid in free US dollars according to the prices announced at the time of submitting the application, with reparations for the fractions in MAROUF of the organization, provided that they are paid at the Central Bank.

Procedures for amending foreign office registration data

  1. Book an appointment through the GOEIC’s website from the following link

  2. Submitting documents in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 120 /1982
  3. Submit a request to inquire about the data of the Egyptian agent from the register of commercial agents and intermediaries, and pay for the data certificate service (in cases where it is required to make a data extract on the Egyptian agent to prove the occurrence of the amendments)
  4. Document checking and technical review
  5. Estimation of fees and service charges on the registration application
  6. Go to the financial affairs at the airport to obtain a letter addressed to the central bank estimating the value of the fees in US dollars
  7. Pay the fees at the Central Bank in US dollars
  8. Book an appointment through the GOEIC's website
  9. Handing over the original fee deposit receipt to the authority’s headquarters in MAROUF
  10. Payment for the service in the Authority's treasury
  11. Financial and technical audit
  12. Entering foreign office card data
  13. The applicant reviews the card before wrapping it and receiving it
  14. Packaging and delivery

Important Notes

  3. The validity of the declarations is 3 months, and even a second power of attorney is accepted only - the authorization is not accepted
  4. If the responsible manager is outside the country and delegates his legal representative to submit an application for obtaining the service at the authority, the power of attorney issued by a foreign authority must be certified by the Egyptian embassy or consulate abroad and deposited in the real estate registry in Egypt
  5. If the person acting on behalf of the office in submitting the application is among the employees of the government, public authorities, public institutions or local government units, the foreign office registry card shall not be delivered until after
    • Notify his employer
    • Or he submits a letter from his employer stating that there is no objection to that authority from performing acts of representation for others
  6. If the manager in charge is a foreigner
    • The foreign office is given a temporary card specified for the period of residence of the responsible manager
    • The purpose of the visit must be in his passport for residence or work, not tourism or for other than business purposes
  7. It appears in the foreign office card S15
    • Data of the foreign office - his name - his nationality - field of activity - his address
    • Name of the manager in charge of the office - the name of the Egyptian agent - the registration number of the Egyptian agent S14 - the date of expiry of the agency contract - the duration of the agency contract (fixed term / extended) - the date of expiry of the agent’s registration
  8. Obligations of the manager in charge of the foreign office
    • Notify the competent authority at the Ministry of Interior of the Egyptian manpower in the foreign office by a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt
    • In the case of the presence of foreign workers, he must submit work permits to them and notify the Authority of that within 30 days.
    • Notify the Authority of the termination or demise of the agency within 60 days from the date of its expiry or demise
    • Notifying the Authority in the event of changing the current agent to another one
    • The office may not practice any brokerage or commercial agency business
  9. The continuation of the foreign office registration is linked to the continuation of the Egyptian commercial agent’s registration and the continuation of the agency on which the foreign office is based
  10. Foreign offices are written off in the following cases
    • If he performs agency or mediation activities in violation of the provisions of the law
    • If the agency contract based on the foreign office expires without renewal or upon the agency's demise for any reason
    • If the registration of the Egyptian agent who is registered on the basis of the foreign office has expired and 90 days have passed since that without renewing his registration
    • If the foreign office's registration has expired and 90 days have passed since that without renewing its registration
  11. In the event that the agent’s registration in the agents’ register has expired, the foreign office shall not be written off until after the expiry of the agent renewal period (90 days).
  12. It is not permissible to re-register a foreign office that has been written off to practice agency business in violation of the provisions of the law except after the lapse of a period of no less than five years.
