Service description

Renewing the registration of foreign offices according to Law 120 / 1982

  • The registration is issued for a period of five years and ends with the expiration of the registration or agency contract or the cancellation of the agent, whichever is closer
  • Registration is renewed every five years
  • The renewal application must be submitted within the ninety days preceding the end of the registration so that the fees are not doubled during the ninety days following the end of the registration
  • After that, the registration of the foreign office is canceled administratively

Conditions for renewing the registration of the foreign office

  1. The expiry date of the registration of the foreign office has not passed by 90 days without submitting the renewal application
  2. That the office has an Egyptian agent registered in the Register of Commercial Agents and Brokers, whose registration is valid and through it only the business of agency or commercial mediation is carried out in accordance with Law 120/1982
  3. That the foreign office has not practiced agency or commercial mediation activities in violation of the provisions of Law 120 /1982
    And that no decision or judgment has been issued to write him off based on that
  4. The agency contract based on which the foreign office is based has not expired
    • Or expired and renewed on the legal date
    • Or it has expired and a new agency contract has been submitted on the legal date
    • The agency on which the foreign office is based has not ceased for any reason

Foreign office registration renewal documents

  1. Complete an application to renew a foreign office registry signed by the director responsible before the competent employee or his legal representative
  2. A copy of the identity document or the passport of the responsible manager and the original for review
  3. Acknowledgment form for registration/renewal of foreign offices signed by the manager responsible before the competent employee, or a valid signature from the bank
  4. A copy of the valid work permits for the foreign manager and the original for review
  5. A copy of a valid card (S14 agents) for the Egyptian agent and the original for review
  6. A copy of the card (S14 data and products of the agency contract) indicating the registration of the foreign company with the agent in the agents’ register and the original for information
  7. Complete a data certificate request to prove the registration of the Egyptian agent on behalf of the company
    If the applicant for renewal is an agent from whom the following documents are required:
  8. A copy of a notarized authorized from the real estate registry and the original for review
  9. A copy of the agent's national ID card
  10. Authorized acknowledgment form
  11. If the agent is a government employee, public authority, public institution, or local government unit, he submits a letter from his employer that there is no objection to that entity from the employee performing proxy work for others and that he has taken a leave without pay

Registration Validity

Five years, or from the date of expiry of the agency contract, or the date of expiry of the agent's registration in the agents' register on the basis of which the office is based, whichever is closer

Fee

  • Return to the GOEIC's branch concerned with MAROUF, provided that the service fee is paid to the authority's treasury in Egyptian pounds with a visa
  • Fees are paid in free US dollars according to the prices announced at the time of submitting the application, with reparations for the fractions in MAROUF authority s branch, provided that they are paid at the Central Bank.

Procedures for renewing the registration of foreign offices

  2. Submitting documents in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 120 / 1982
  3. Submitting a request to inquire about the data of the Egyptian agent from the Register of Commercial Agents and Brokers, and to pay for the data certificate service
  4. Document checking and technical review
  5. Estimate the fees and charges for the service on demand
  6. Go to the airport's financial affairs to obtain a letter addressed to the Central Bank estimating the value of the fees in US dollars
  7. Payment of fees at the Central Bank in US dollars
  8. Book an appointment through the GOEIC's website
  9. Deliver the original fee deposit receipt to the GOEIC's headquarters in MAROUF
  10. Payment for the service in the Authority's treasury
  11. Financial and technical audit
  12. Entering foreign office card data
  13. The applicant reviews the card before wrapping it and receiving it

Important Notes

  1. Obtaining application forms and declarations from the GOEIC’s website only

  3. The validity of the declarations is 3 months, and even a second authorized is accepted only - the authorization is not accepted
  4. If the responsible manager is outside the country and delegates his legal representative to submit an application for obtaining the service at the authority, the authorized issued by a foreign authority must be certified by the Egyptian embassy or consulate abroad and deposited in the real estate registry in Egypt
  5. The person acting on behalf of the foreign office may not sign the personal declaration that must be completed by the responsible manager
  6. In the event that the responsible manager travels outside the country, the declaration and a copy of the passport shall be documented from the Egyptian embassy abroad
  7. If the person acting on behalf of the office in submitting the application is from the employees of the government, public bodies, public institutions or local government units, the foreign office registry card shall not be delivered until after notifying his employer
  8. If the manager in charge is a foreigner, the purpose of the visit must be in his passport for residence or work, and not for tourism or other business purposes.
  9. If the responsible manager is a foreigner, the foreign office will be given a temporary card specified for the period of residence of the responsible manager

    Name of the manager in charge of the office- name of the Egyptian agent- registration number of the Egyptian agent S14- date of expiry of the agency contract- duration of the agency contract (fixed term/extended)- date of expiry of the agent’s registration
  11. Obligations of the manager in charge of the foreign office
    • Notify the competent authority at the Ministry of Interior of the Egyptian manpower in the foreign office by a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt
    • In the case of the presence of foreign workers, he must submit work permits to them and notify the Authority of that within 30 days.
    • Notify the Authority of the termination or demise of the agency within 60 days from the date of its expiry or demise
    • Notifying the Authority in the event of changing the current agent to another one
    • The office may not practice any brokerage or commercial agency
  12. If it appears upon renewal of the registration that there are amendments to the registration data, the documents required in case of amendment are reviewed on the GOEIC’s website
  13. The continuation of the foreign office registration is linked to the continuation of the Egyptian commercial agent’s registration and the continuation of the agency on which the foreign office is based
  14. When will foreign offices be written off?
    • If he performs agency or mediation activities in violation of the provisions of the law
    • Or upon the expiry of the agency contract based on which the foreign office is based without renewal, or upon the agency's demise for any reason
    • Or upon the expiration of the expiry date of the Egyptian agent's registration, who is registered with him, the agency contract on which the foreign office is based, and 90 days have passed since that without renewing his registration
    • Or when the foreign office's registration expires and 90 days have passed without renewing its registration
  15. In the event that the agent’s registration in the agents’ register has expired, the foreign office shall not be written off until after the expiry of the agent renewal period (90 days).
