An application to get a registration card in the register of agents and commercial intermediaries or re-registration

Service description

In order to save time and facilitate the course of procedures for commercial customers, this service allows them to submit an application to get a registration card in the register of agents and commercial intermediaries or re-registration to GOEIC using the online portal and it aims at providing a mechanism for the process of submitting such application, which will save time spent on the service.

Providers of Service

A new registration in the General Department for commercial agents and intermediaries.

Place of Service

Head office of the GOEIC (Alexandria branch - Port Said - Sharqia branch). Receiving and sending the documents are made only by the portfolio, and the card is to be issued from the Head office.

Requirements of Service

·         The customer shall have an active e-services account on the online portal.

·         The procedure must be completed at the GOEIC branch within15 days as of the date of submitting the application through the portal.

Required documents

Registration documents of an individual trader

·         Completing the stated registration application signed by the interested party before the competent employee or validating the signature by an accredited bank.

·         A certified copy of the agency or commercial intermediation contract, including work nature of the agent or commercial intermediary / geographical scope or commodity / liabilities of the contract parties / commodities dealt with / the percentage of the stated commission, the conditions of its payment, the currency in which it shall be paid, the commitment of the client and the obligation to give notice of any change of the contract to the Egyptian Consulate abroad.

·         If the power of attorney is issued by a foreign company or entity, the agency contract shall be authenticated by the competent chamber of commerce or the official body which is acting on its behalf in foreign countries and approved by the competent Egyptian Consulate with the translation of the agency contract according to the rules regarding translation. The power of attorney may not be issued by a foreign company that has an agent from the public sector companies as long as this power of attorney is valid.

·         Agency contracts issued locally (persons companies of the public business sector) shall be documented by the public notary, but for the government companies (public sector), the seal of the state emblem is sufficient.

·         An official extract from the registration record in the commercial register stating that the business of the commercial agency is under the agent's original activity.

·         Experience certificate in the commercial agencies field from the competent chamber of commerce and authorized by Federation of Chambers of Commerce only at first registration.

·         A copy of the tax card with complete data and conform to the data of the commercial register

·         A copy of identity verification document

·         An official extract from the birth, military status certificate for nationality verification or the card of obtaining the Egyptian nationality if the applicant is not Egyptian. Ten years shall be passed after the issuance of such

·         The decision of accepting the resignation or the decision of termination of service for the former workers in the government, public institutions and authorities, local government units, public sector companies or the public business sector employees. Duration of leaving the work for the employee shall be two years.

·         Sign the form of acknowledgment concerning the commercial agents and intermediaries register by the interested party before the competent employee or validation of his signature by the bank.

Notes :

·         The registration shall be issued for a period of five years regardless of the duration of the agency contract.

·         The registration shall be renewed every five years and the application of renewal shall be submitted during the ninety days that precedes the end of the registration so as not to get the fees doubled during the ninety days following the end of the registration, hence the registration would not get administratively cancelled afterwards.

Required documents and papers to register companies in the record of commercial agents and intermediaries

·         Completing the registration application signed by (the interested party/responsible director/chairman/managing director) before the competent employee or validating the signature by an authorized bank.

·         A certified copy of the agency or commercial intermediation contract, including work nature of the agent or commercial intermediary / geographical scope or commodity / liabilities of the contract parties / commodities dealt with / the percentage of the stated commission, the conditions of its payment, the currency in which it shall be paid, the commitment of the client and the obligation to give notice of any change of the contract to the Egyptian Consulate abroad.

·         A valid extract from the companys commercial register including the Head office of the company and the entry of the business of the agency or commercial intermediation within its activities - the capital of the company shall not be less than 20,000 LE.

·         An official copy of the companys articles of incorporation and the amendments made to it and shall be registered and recorded.
In the case of joint-stock companies, stock and limited liability companies, a copy of the companies prospectus shall be submitted, in which the company contract and its charter were registered, and it shall be conformed with the commercial register.

·         A copy of the companys tax card with complete data and matching to the data of the commercial register (Public sector companies are exempted from this step).

·         The last budget delivered by the company to the tax authority for the previous fiscal year, in order to prove that its capital is not less than twenty thousand (20000) L.E., if the company is old and has been established for more than one year. The company shall provide a certificate stating the deposit of this amount in one of the approved banks in the name of the company, in case of starting its activity in less than one year (Public sector companies are exempted).

·         Experience certificate in the commercial agencies field from the competent chamber of commerce, and authorized by Federation of Chambers of Commerce only at first registration (Public sector companies are exempted from this step).

·         The following documents shall be submitted by all the joint partners, directors, board of directors chairman and members, and those entitled to manage and sign whose names are listed in the commercial register (Public sector companies are exempted from this step).

o    acknowledgement of the criminal record in accordance with resolution 362 of 2005

o    A copy of identity verification document

o    An official extract of the birth certificate or the card of obtaining the Egyptian nationality if the registration applicant is of foreign origin provided that more than ten years have passed as of the date of issuing it. This clause shall be applied to the limited partners in the limited partnership companies - and the limited liability companies shall be treated as partnerships.

o    The decision of accepting the resignation or the decision of service termination for former employee in the government, public sector, public business sector, public authorities or institutions, or local government units. Duration since employee left the work shall be two years.

·         Signing the form of acknowledgment concerning the commercial agents and intermediaries register of those who are entitled to manage and sign before a competent employee or validation of his signature by the bank.

Notes:

·         The registration shall be issued for a period of five years regardless of the duration of the agency contract.

·         The registration shall be renewed every five years and the renewal request shall be submitted during the ninety days that precedes the end of the registration so as not to get the fees doubled during the ninety days following the end of the registration to avoid administrative cancellation of the registration.
