In implementation of the directions of Dr. Neven Gamea, the minister of trade and industry, to achieve more communication between the ministry entities and business community in order to promote the Egyptian industry and increase export rates.
In the frame work of the efforts of GOEIC to develop exports and cooperation with the exporters to open new markets to the Egyptian products, and to support the president's initiative (100 billion dollars export).
(EGAC) agreed to the extension of the scope of accreditation the conformity certificates granting unit at GOEIC to include the shoes and its accessories, natural and artificial leathers and its products, biodegradable plastic and the textile products added to this list according to the requirements of international standards (17065:2021 ISO/IEC) Also, the council allows the unit to use the logo of (EGAC) according to the council work rules.
Now, the unit grants the conformity certificates to the textile products, shoes and leathers exported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia according to Saudi saber system with competitive prices compared to other companies.
Also, it provides a distinguished service with a well and qualified trained team at the highest level to help the customers in obtaining certificates of conformity for their products. In addition, the spread of GOEIC's branches in all ports of the republic leads to the expansion of the coverage of services provided by GOEIC to decrease the time of customs release.
It is worth saying, that saber system is an electronic platform that helps the importers or the local factory at Saudi to register the required certificate of conformity electronically for imported or locally manufactured consumable products to enter the Saudi market.
Saudi saber system aims to:
- facilitating the registration producers of the required conformity certificate electronically for imported or locally consumable products to enter the Saudi market.
- Decreasing the required time to release the consumable products by Saudi customs.
- raising the level of safe products and check its quality in Saudi markets.
GOEIC is considered to be the first Egyptian government agency approved to be registered in Saudi saber and give a certificate of conformity assessment according to the requirements of international standards (17065:2021 ISO/IEC) in the field of:
-Textile and Ready-Made Garments Industries
-Shoes and its accessories.
-Natural and artificial leathers and its products.
-Biodegradable plastic.
Engineer/ Essam Elnagar chairman of GOEIC stated that the Egyptian exports to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recorded the second stage with 1.453 billion dollars during the period from January till September 2021.
He confirmed that GOEIC is keen to constant communication with the importers and exporters community in order to inform them of the latest services provided by GOEIC to facilities for the business community and this contributes to open new export markets towards the Egyptian products in different foreign markets.
